GENERAL PROVIDENT FUND INFORMATION1. The office of the AG (A&E) Meghalaya maintains the individual General Provident Fund (GPF) Accounts of all employees of the Government of Meghalaya. As on 31 March 2007 there were a total of 52,235 GPF accounts on roll.
2. The Annual GPF Statements of subscribers are sent out by the first week of September every year to their Heads of Departments or Heads of Offices as the case may be, for distribution amongst the concerned officials. Individual subscribers can also obtain a duplicate copy of their Annual GPF Statement from the office on a written request.
3. The work relating to the maintenance of the GPF accounts is handled by two Sections (MPF -I & MPF-II) of the AG's office. The distribution of this work between these two sections is as below:
4. The GPF accounts of IAS, IPS and IFS officials serving under the Government of Meghalaya are maintained by the office of the AG (A&E) Assam, Beltola, Guwahati -781029. For this purpose their monthly GPF subscriptions are passed on by the office of the AG(A&E) Meghalaya to that office every month. Their Annual GPF Statements are also individually sent to them every year by the office of the AG (A&E) Assam. GPF-related queries in respect of these categories of officials should be addressed to GPF-EDP Cell (Phone No. 0361-2305901/2307712/2307716 Extn. 425) of the office of the AG (A&E) Assam, Guwahati.
