Our
Vision
An independent office respected for the quality
and delivery of our services with respect to
compilation of the accounts of the Government of
Meghalaya, authorization of pay and pensionary
benefits and maintenance of loan and provident
fund accounts of State Government employees.
We promote
- accountable government,
- an ethical and effective public service,
- good governance,
- sustainable development, and
- economic and effective use of resources.
We do this by
-
compiling the accounts of the Government of
Meghalaya from the challans, vouchers and other
records received every month from treasures and
other drawing and disubursing officers of the
State,
-
presenting the Finance and Appropriation
Accounts of the State to the legislature every
year,
-
authorizing pay and pensionary benefits of the
State Government employees in accordance with
approved staffing tables, financial rules and
service regulations and maintaining records of these
authorizations,
-
maintaining the loan and provident fund records
of State Government employees,
-
providing assurance and information to State
Legislature, government, and people at large on
public finances;
-
working collaboratively with State Government
and other professional organizations; and
-
providing a working environment that fosters
excellence and encourages every member of our
workforce to realize their full potential to
make an affirmative impact in the community and
society at large.
Focus Areas
The Accountant General (Accounts & Entitlement),
Meghalaya has identified the following areas that
merit attention. These focus areas form an
integral part of our Strategic Plan that will
assist us to plan our work and also form the
basis on which we can be assessed.
